Armed security

Armed security guards in New York.

Tristate Security Patrol provides armed and unarmed officers. An armed post is the right request when the property, the hours, or the threat makes a firearm part of the post orders. It is not the default for a house that wants a marked car a few nights a week.

Call 347-991-0121 and say the site is in New York or New Jersey. The credential is different in each state. The company address is 5314 16th Avenue, Suite 238, Brooklyn, NY 11204.

For most standard posts, uniformed officers are scheduled within 24–48 hours. Emergency coverage is coordinated through 24/7 dispatch.

What we provide

What an armed post includes.

An armed officer is a stationed or assigned protection post with written orders: where they stand, what they may challenge, who they call, and how the firearm is carried. The site already says armed and unarmed officers are matched to the posture of each site. This page is that posture, spelled out.

Armed work shows up at retail that has had repeat incidents, at institutions that want a visible armed presence, at some private schools, and on executive movements. Community Patrol memberships are usually marked-vehicle checks, not an armed guard in a driveway all night.

New York armed registration

A New York pistol license plus the 47-hour firearms course and a special armed guard registration, as DCJS and the Department of State describe.

Unarmed when that fits

Many doors, lobbies, and patrols do not need a firearm. The assessment should say so.

Post orders

Hours, uniform or plainclothes, equipment, and the escalation path, including 911 for emergencies.

Reporting

Incident notes and, on patrol products, GPS records in the client portal.

On the ground

Where armed pages go into more detail.

Brooklyn armed posts are written for borough properties and linked below. Long Island armed posts, including the school searches people type, are on the Long Island page and follow New York law because Long Island is New York. New Jersey armed posts follow SORA and need a New Jersey carry credential. The certification alone does not authorize a gun.

Queens, NY and the Bronx can request armed coverage under the same New York rules. They do not have separate armed landing pages in this batch. Use this page and name the borough on the quote.

Local rules

New York armed-guard requirements, in plain language.

DCJS states that armed applicants must have a valid New York pistol license under Penal Law 400.00 and must complete a 47-hour Firearms Training Course for Security Guards before applying for a special armed guard registration card. After that, they complete an 8-hour annual in-service course for armed guards. Unarmed guards complete an 8-hour pre-assignment course, a 16-hour on-the-job course within 90 days, and an 8-hour annual in-service course. Registration itself is with the New York Department of State.

New Jersey is not the same statute. Read the New Jersey armed page before you send a New York-registered officer across the river.

Credentials

Licensed officers, documented work.

Founded in 2021. Licensed and insured is the company standard already printed on the site.

The company’s public profile describes officers as including off-duty officers, military veterans, and seasoned professionals. An individual post is filled with someone who holds the credential that post requires.

Pricing

What is published, and what is quoted.

Armed security is quoted. The site does not list an armed hourly rate. Published prices are patrol memberships: residential from $159 a month and commercial from $399 a month. Those are mobile checks. Use them only if a shared patrol is actually what you want.

Published Community Patrol and Commercial Patrol prices. Armed posts, fire watch, events, and executive protection are quoted separately.

Questions

Answers, in plain language.

How much does an armed security guard cost?

There is no armed hourly price on this website. Call 347-991-0121 or request a quote with the address, hours, and whether the post is overnight. Published monthly prices are for patrol memberships only.

What license does an armed guard need in New York?

A New York pistol license, the 47-hour security guard firearms course, and a special armed guard registration through the Department of State, with DCJS setting the training.

Are your patrol cars armed posts?

Community Patrol is a mobile check program. Armed coverage is a separate posture decided in the assessment. Do not assume a membership includes a firearm.

Can I hire armed guards near me in Brooklyn or on Long Island?

Yes. Use the Brooklyn and Long Island armed pages so the quote matches the property type. New Jersey uses a different page because the law is different.

How fast can an armed post start?

Most standard posts are scheduled within 24–48 hours, if a qualified armed officer is available. Emergency requests go through 24/7 dispatch. Availability of an armed officer is part of the schedule, not a guarantee.
